Booster pumps consist of either a highly efficient PM synchronous or an asynchronous submersible motor pump, which is installed in a pressure-resistant stainless steel casing. The aggregates are designed for pressure increase and flow in high-pressure circulatory systems.

Desalination of seawater
In reverse osmosis systems for desalination of seawater, booster pumps are used to increase the pressure in the pump circuit. The pump supplies the system with a constant working pressure. The integration into a corresponding plant takes place by means of a Victaulic®-coupling Type 77DX or 177N.
